Everybody will have the chance to express their opinion on the implementation of the European measure package with an email at

The circular economy is too important a matter to remain confined within the walls of the Parliament. This is why the Environmental Committe of the Senate, chaired by the Deputy Giuseppe Marinello, decided to launch a public consultation to gather information and feedback from stakeholders of the package of circular economy measures presented on December 2nd by the European Commission, which Italy now needs to implement.

“By ‘circular economy’ – explains a note of the Italian Parliament – Brussels means a production model in which resources are used by enterprises and consumers in a sustainable way, extending as long as possible the value of products, materials and resources, and minimizing waste production. The package consists of a Communication and four proposals for the revision of directives already in place.”

The initiative of the Environmental Committee of the Senate is open to citizens, authorities, companies, universities, research centres, all those who wish to participate in the European decision-making process with observations concerning the legislative proposals.

The contributions sent to the email address will be taken into consideration in the drafting of the opinion to be transmitted to the European Commission for the development of political dialogue.

The public consultation will be open until April 1st 2016. All documentation is available online at In May, the Environmental Committee will organize a conference to discuss the results of the consultation.
