The electric waste collecting tricycle was developed by Sie Toscana. Soon to be operational in the historical city centre and on the beach.
Three wheels for a triumph of sustainability. It is T-Riciclo, the garbage-collecting electric tricycle that just debuted at Festambiente, an environmental fair organised by Legambiente in Ripescia, in the Province of Grosseto, Italy. This innovative vehicle was created by Sei Toscana, the authority in charge for the waste management of 100 municipalities in the Italian provinces of Arezzo, Grosseto and Siena, and it will be used for garbage collection in some Tuscany municipalities.
During the fair of Festambiente, visitors can see it in action while it empties trash cans located in the exposition area. Those who wish to take a closer look can also observe it in the stand of Sei Toscana.
T-Riciclo is powered with solar panels on the roof that guarantee its full energetic autonomy, with the assisted pedalling system. Two side openings allow to sort the waste into specific containers in the tricycle’s structure. A perfect combination of environmental friendly technology and easy mobility, the tricycle will be used mostly in historical city centres and along the beach.
T-Riciclo will also help to collect the opinions of the visitors of Festambiente on the theme of waste management. The Sei Toscana stand contains a video box equipped for this purpose: during the whole festival, visitors will have the opportunity to answer a short interview about these issues. Recorded interviews will also be visualized on Sei Toscana stand’s TV screen, and uploaded in the video section of their website, www.seitoscana.it, on the company’s YouTube channel, and on their Facebook page.
